Who We Are

CASA for Lancaster County is a volunteer-driven local organization of caring people who want to make a difference in children's lives. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for Lancaster County recruits, trains and supports community volunteers who advocate for abused, neglected, truant and ungovernable children in Juvenile Court. CASA volunteers are appointed by a judge to a child or sibling group involved in Juvenile Court. CASA volunteers get to know the children as well as the circumstances surrounding the family. CASA volunteers do their own investigation and write reports that go directly to the judge stating what they've observed and what they recommend for next steps. CASA volunteers also share with the judge the needs and wishes of the children. CASA volunteers offer an outside perspective and provide the judge with more information on which to base decisions. Most importantly, CASA volunteers are the child's voice in court. Help us serve the hundreds of children in Lancaster County who need a CASA volunteer by becoming a volunteer advocate or by donating to CASA for Lancaster County.
